When longtime Indigo shopper, Lorna Kennedy, took ownership of the boutique last month, she knew the first thing she wanted to update--the store's color scheme.
Over the past several weeks, she's asked for feedback from employees, shoppers and consigners to inform a creative brief shared with local designer, Neil Gregory. The result is a gorgeous new store logo that maintains the small business's name while giving a nod to the artsy vibe shoppers encounter when they enter the boutique.
This vibe resonates from both the people and the eclectic mix of clothing, jewelry, shoes, handbags and accessories carefully curated for shoppers seeking new-to-you treasures.
"As I was researching the history and mysticism surrounding the color indigo's origins as a natural plant-based dye, I knew it was the right choice for our brand," Lorna stated.
"I also love how Neil incorporated a shade of haint blue alongside the rich indigo blue tones. Haint paint is well known throughout the American South, and was originally created by mixing left over indigo dye with chalk or milk and painted on porch roofs to ward off bad energy," she added. "It's a perfect metaphor for our ethos of reuse and up-cycling."
The rebrand is starting small with the new logo's debut on social media, but will soon spread to other visible store elements including refreshed outdoor signage and shopping bags.
Shoppers who drop by this weekend for the massive Jewelry Sale, might also notice fresh new paint on the boutique's interior walls.
We hope to see you all soon and until then, watch this space for more store updates and news!
